Christmas Events Are Coming

If you are a Sunnyvale home owner, here are just a few things you might be interested in this weekend, November 30 to December 2. Holiday events are filling the Sunnyvale calendar, so start planning now!
1. Lakewood Village Holiday Parade
The Christmas season kicks off with the 21st Annual Lakewood Village Holiday Parade on Saturday, December 1. It runs from Lakewood Elementary School at 11am to Fairwood Park, and it includes the Columbia Choir, pictures with Santa, and a food truck area at the Valley Faith Church.
2. Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration
Later on Saturday, December 1, from 4:30pm until 8:30pm, Sunnyvale will have its own Christmas Tree lighting in downtown Sunnyvale on Murphy Avenue. Santa Claus will be there with along with fun activities for the whole family. Entertainment will be provided by Spirit of Sunnyvale Band, Dance Attack! Homestead High School, Columbia Middle School and The Peninsulaires. The tree lighting is scheduled for 6:10 pm.
3. Inspirational Christmas Reading
On Sunday, December 2 at 3pm, come hear author Marty Brounstein discuss his book "Two Among the Righteous Few: A Story of Courage in the Holocaust." It recounts the story of a Christian couple in The Netherlands who saved the lives of at least two dozen Jews during World War II. It is a free event at the Sunnyvale Public Library at 665 W. Olive Avenue.
4. Poinsettia Sale
The Homestead High School Cheer Team will be selling poinsettias to raise funds for the team and its scholarship fund. Both red and white flowers are available during the sale on Saturday, December 1 from 10am to 4pm at Homestead High School at 21370 Homestead Road in Cupertino.
